Amazon Indians against dam project
A delegation of three members of Indian nations from Brazil and Peru is currently traveling in Europe. They are protesting here against the construction of dams in their home. The dams endanger the country and lives of thousands of people in the Amazon.
Ruth Mestoquiari Buendia, a member of the Ashaninka from Peru, Sheyla Juruna, a Juruna from the Xingu region ( pictured left), and by the people of Almir Suruí Suruí from Brazil call to stop by dam projects in the Amazon.
The delegation is on 2 March, alongside Survival supporters in London to protest against the Brazilian development bank BNDES. The Bank finances a large part of the dams.

The delegation will also meet with British members of Parliament in London.
